The result of their thoughts are the BMW X2City, a joint collaboration between BMW with brands such as Kettler, Bulls, Pegasus, resulting in a scooter classified as “Pedelec25” which means you don’t need motorbikes license to ride one.
With a total weight of 20 kg and could be folded like a folding bike, BMW X2City could be stowed away in the car boot. Relying on a brushless electric motor, it could be driven up to 25 km/h of speed, as on the handle, we could find a switch with 5 max speed choices, from 8, 12, 16, 20, up to 25 km/h, and when you finished using it, there are an off button near the brake handle on the right side.
BMW X2City fitted with a 408 Wh battery where it could reach a mileage of 25 to 35 km before a recharge. If using a standard house outlet, at least 2.5 hours needed to fully recharged it. Plus the battery could be detach and water proof.
BMW said that the X2City suits short range mobility or become a feeder/support to access public transportation. Despite the BMW X2City could be purchased online at Kettler Alu-Rad GmbH, the official price tag hasn’t been decided.
