AutonetMagz – Almost all people familiar with Porsche, but not much people familiar with RUF. RUF itself is a tuner in Germany who really have a lot of knowledge what is a Porsche is. RUF did handle the 911 and Cayman which resulting to the RUF 9ff, RCT, etc.
If way back then RUF relying on Porsche cars as the basis, now they want to be independent. As on the Geneva Motor Show, the introduce the RUF CTR 2017, which looks similar as the Porsche 911 Series 964, but know this, that there are no common part between RUF CTR and Porsche 911, as from front to rear are deigned by them.
The model based on the RUF CTR “Yellowbird” year 1987 as the fastest car in their age. Despite the design were classic, but don’t count it wrong, as behind the body us a monocoque chassis made of carbon fiber made by RUF. It become the first car with RR configuration (Rear Engine-Rear Wheel Drive) who apply a monocoque carbon fiber chassis.
At the rear, you could find a 3.6 liter flat 6 twin turbo which able to produce 700 hp and 880 Nm of torque, distributed to the rear wheels through a 6-speed MT and Limited Slip Differential, and the whole cars only weighs 1.2 tonnes.
The acceleration from 0-100 km/h just 3.5 seconds, and in 9 seconds it able to pass 200 km/h with a top speed of 360 km/h. As at the undercarriage, they fitted a carbon ceramic brakes, and a pushrod-actuated double wishbone suspensions. As the interior apply a classics styling, the seats apply a carbon fiber, along with aluminum brake pedals and three spoke steering wheel.
RUF CTR will be made only for 30 units by RUF at their factory in Pfaffenhausen located between Stuttgart and Munich, with an undisclosed price tag.
