AutonetMagz – Speaking of commercial brands, Daihatsu and Suzuki have a strong image for small pickup used to delivers vegetables to the market, plus some crazy peoples often to use this car to try a wild slalom in the night. Besides both of them, there are Mitsubishi Colt, plus Tata Ace and Tata Xenon who make the market more crowded.
As recently the Diesel powered Tata Ace manage to become the fleet seen at the rural area in the form of a pickup or public small buses, Daihatsu respond to that, as they are preparing a new pick-up, with a smaller dimensions compared to the Granmax, and to be called as Daihatsu Hi-Max.
From the spyshot, you could see that the car looks like a Daihatsu Japan pick-up, nothing wrong with that, as the pick up basically is a Daihatsu Hijet JDM who are made locally to become the Granmax smaller siblings with some local adjustment.
For example, if the Daihatsu Hijet JDM got a body colored bumper, the Daihatsu Hi-Max apply a black plastic bumper. So do the black color side mirror, steel wheels, simple interior, no tachometer speedometer, manual AC, and single DIN head unit.
For the engine, Daihatsu prefer to apply a 1.0 liter engine who are much bigger compared to Daihatsu Hijet Japan. SO let’s just wait for it soon, as looks like they are ready to sell it.
