AutonetMagz – As several hours ago, Honda officially introduced the new variant of Civic Turbo, the Si variant who will be available in 2 variant at once, a 2 doors Coupe and 4 doors. The Civic Si, positioned below the Civic Type-R as a daily use Sports car.
Honda fitted the Si with a 1.5 liter turbocharged and direct injection, along with direct injection and dual variable cam timing to produce 205 hp and 260 Nm of torque, and paired with a 6-speed MT.
Considering the natural character of Turbo engine, the Civic Si will be a car with the best driving experience and abundant torque as it will be available almost 70% of total engine Rpm.
The new Civic Si will have a lighter weight compared to its predecessor, and a stiffer chassis plus several upgrade so the driver could explore the performance more maximal. The upgrade will includes the Adaptive Electric Power Steering, Sport Suspension with adaptive dampers, Limited-slip Differential, bigger discs with 12.3 inches up front, and a 235/40 R18 tyres.
The sport suspension of Civic Si fitted with a more stiff springs and stabilizer bars (+30 percent up front, and +60 percent at the rear), solid bushings for the front and rear, plus upper control arms like the one fitted on the Type R. There will be 2 driving mode, Normal and Sport who could change the suspension character, throttle responds, and steering wheel to get a more direct and sporty driving experience.
On the exterior, it will be fitted with a black grille with bigger air intake, 18 inches alloy wheels, and polygonal chrome exhaust at the mid of rear bumper.
For the 4 doors version, Civic Si will be fitted with a more ‘Subtle’ spoiler, as the 2 doors will arrive with a higher model, and a unified left and right tail lamp.
Inside the interior, you could find a sports seat with red stitching, along at the door trim, steering wheel, and leather upholstery at the transmission lever with aluminum finishing.
The Civic Si will be fitted with all features of the Civic EX-T saloon and EX-T Coupe in the US, such as dual-zone automatic climate control, seats with heater, rain sensing wiper, 7 inches infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Andrid Auto, as for the Si it will be fitted with a 450 watt AM/FM/CD sound system with SiriusXM Radio, HD radio, and Pandora.
Too bad, Honda hasn’t announced the price tag of the new Ciivc Si, so let’s just wait and see.
