AutonetMagz – On last Thursday, 23rd February 2017, General Motors Indonesia at the same time with the Trailblazer launching event, introduced the All New Chevrolet Trax and All New Chevrolet Spark.
The new Chevrolet Spark got a new design with the latest features and technology, as it come with a 1.4 liter 4 cylinder Ecotec engine. The cylinder head was made of Aluminum to produce a high performance and efficiency, along with the lightweight engine.
Chevrolet really proud of this new Spark, as it came with a more sleek, stylish and fresh appearance. As in terms of dimension, the wheelbase become longer along with a lower overall height up to 45 mm. The Coefficient of Drag of the Spark are lower, and several body structure got improvement to increase the stability and handling.
At the safety, All New Chevrolet Spark fitted with features such as Hill Start Assist, Dual Airbags, ABS and EBD, along with entertainment system with the latest MyLink supporting Apple Car Play and Android Auto. the New Chevrolet Spark only available in one trim and CVT transmission with a price tag of IDR 196 Million.
While the new Chevrolet Trax Facelift come with a new front fascia like the one fitted in the latest global model. This new appearance come with a dual grille called as signature dual port grille, along with a new headlamp equipped with projector, DRL LED tail lamp (LTZ variant) and new 18 inches bumper with new design.
The latest features is PEPS or Passive entry – Passive Start, or keyless entry and start stop engine button which only available for the LTZ trim. In terms of safety, the new Trax are one step above its rival, due to it came with Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stability Program, ABS, 4 discs brake, and 6 airbag. Just like the Spark, Trax apply the 1.4 liter Ecotec, but with turbocharger to produce 140 PS and 200 Nm of torque, mated with 6 speed AT and a manual mode.
The new Chevrolet Trax available in two version, the LT priced at IDR 279 Million and the LTZ priced at IDR 305 million, with this price tag, surely Chevrolet could compete against its Japanese rival, who costs much higher but less features.
